Story Competition

Hello, welcome to the Grade 7 blog for 2012. It has been a great year so far, and recently, we have had a story competition. First of all, we would like to congratulate out winner Nathan Celestin. Here is his story...

 Once upon a time, in a little town in Mauritius lived to two best friends of the world, named Bruno and Cleo. But they were not always friends, and this story will tell you how it all happened. 

Bruno was a young big boxer who loved to play. He lived with Mr. and Mrs. Camoin who loved him so much as if he was their own child. They used to play with him, gave him bones, he had his own ball, oh yes. He was a happy dog.  

One day, Mrs. Camoin went out to do some shopping. When she came back to her car, she saw a little kitten hiding, very scared of the traffic, noise, and people walking everywhere. Her heart melted in front of that poor thing and without loosing one second, she took her home. Her husband was pleased with what she had done.  

She called Bruno, "Bruno, my boy, I have a surprise for you." Bruno thought it was a big, nice bone, but instead he saw a little kitten. At first, he thought to himself, "What am I going to do with this?" Then he thought that they could become friends. He introduced himself, "Hi, I'm Bruno. I'm so happy to have you and I really want to be your friend so that we can play together together. I've got my ball, my bone--." He didn't have time to finish when she said, "Leave me alone. I don't want to be your friend, I've got a home, a family to take care of me and that's it! I don't need more."

Bruno felt very sad. Mr. and Mrs. Camoin named the cat Cleo and she started to get settled in the house and grow. Cleo began to take Bruno's place and she would try to attract the attention of the masters on her. But Bruno would continue to love and try to become her friend even if she would ignore him. 

As time passed Cleo's heart started to become tender towards Bruno. "How amazing!" She said to herself, "Bruno still wants to be my friend even though I've been ignoring him. He's so good and shared everything with me, even though he was in this house before me." Her heart changed, and she said to Bruno, "Sorry. you have loved me so much and your heart didn't change towards me even when I was mean to you. I would love to be your friend now and play with you. Please forgive me." Of course Bruno was only waiting for that, and from that day they became best friends. 

This story reminds us of God's love for us. Even though we didn't love Him, the Bible says in Romans 5:8, "But God commandeth his love toward us, in that while while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Bruno's heart was full of love towards Cleo and that's what what changed her heart towards him. The Lord wants us to become His friend forever.  Bruno and Cleo are still best friends  until today.
